Westchester County covers 450 square miles and has a current population of roughly around 1 million residents. Westchester consists of 48 municipalities with White Plains as the county seat.
For many years, Westchester has played a prominent role in the film industry, given its proximity to New York City. The county has over 20,000 acres of parkland, miles of Hudson River and Long Island Sound shoreline.
Westchester County enjoys the Long Island Sound on the southeast and the Hudson River on the west. Within the county’s borders, the terrain is largely rolling hills, intersected by the Croton, Bronx and Saw Mill rivers.
